One of the things that a lot of women with curly and frizzy hair is to find a way to tame their mane. One of the ways that they have found to do this is through the treatment called Brazilian Blowout. If you have heard of this treatment and want to know more about it, below are some facts about it.
What is this treatment?
This is a straightening treatment that will temporarily straighten your hair by sealing in keratin into your hair using something called a flat iron. It improves the hair’s appearance by making a layer that is protective around the shaft of the hair for locks that are smooth, shiny and free of frizz. It doesn’t make hair straight as a board or make it look unnatural. After you have this treatment, your hair will look gloriously natural.
It’s different from the regular types of Brazilian keratin treatment since the product will be rinsed out after it is straightened using the flat iron and your hair is then blown dry before you leave the salon. With a regular treatment, the product remains in your hair and then it’s rinsed out after 2 to 3 days.
What happens during the procedure?
When you have this done, your hair will be first shampooed and then dried until there is just a bit of moisture left in it. Then the product is applied to the hair and it’s left there for approximately twenty minutes. When that is over, the stylist runs your hair through a flat iron. After that, the product is rinsed from the hair, conditioner is put on, and your hair is blown dry. It will take around an hour or even less for this whole procedure. It’s a great choice when you don’t have a lot of time.
What’s the cost?
Based on where you are going and how long your hair is, the cost is usually $200-$250. But you want to make sure you’re wary of really low costs, since, this usually isn’t cheap.
How long will the treatment last?
For the most part, it will last anywhere from 6 weeks – 3 months, based on the maintenance on your hair and your hair routine.
What kind of maintenance will it need?
You shouldn’t shampoo your hair very often. This will let the treatment’s effects last a lot longer. You also should use conditioner and shampoo that’s free of sulfates. An even better idea is to use products with a lot of keratin in them. The disadvantage of this is that they’re going to be a lot more expensive than the regular products. It’s also good to invest in dry shampoo since you don’t want to be washing your hair sooner than one or two days after your treatment. It’s also not recommended that you braid or tie it after a blowout.
